Download the shogi games collection

The shogi games collection was last updated on the 8 july 2007.

The files included contain psn games and use the standard UTF8 encoding, comments can include specific country characters. End of lines are encoded with LF (Unix like).

The july 2007 shogi games collection

To help you to explore all MacShogi features, here is a collection of games. This collection contains the following files :

• ama-pros.psn, 32 games, amateur against pro games
• europe.psn, 1296 games between amateurs only, most games have been played in Europe between 1981 and 2007
• japan-ama.psn, 16 games between amateurs, played in Japan
• japan-isf-1999.psn, 55 games played during the 1999 International Shogi Forum
• japan-isf-2002.psn, 68 games played during the 2002 International Shogi Forum
• japan-isf-2005.psn, 78 games played during the 2005 International Shogi Forum
• japan-pros.psn, 1503 games between professionnal players
• joseki.psn, 87 games, joseki (30 & 40 first moves from Terao Manabu and The Nakabisha Series)

In all, 3135 games in the psn format from 1607 to 2007, with comments or not.

All commented games posted by Reijer Grimbergen in his "The Week in Shukan Shogi" weekly reports are included in the shogi games collection.

The future of the shogi games collection

All future commented games posted by Reijer in shogi-l will be added in the collection.

The cleaning job in the games description will continue. If you find a mistake in the description of games, or if you have a more complete gamescore, don't hesitate to send me an email.

Next, I will convert the Larry Kaufman's Handicap series in the psn format and add them in the shogi games collection.

Finally, I will add many tsume in the collection. All starting position will use the FEN description, so that another games reader will be able to reuse the tsume.
